Following from 2016’s ‘Outlook’ this album has a more open jazz quartet dynamic with less structured arrangements and more space for the players to interpret the material.

Rose is well known on the London freelance scene, predominantly through his work in west end theatre but also in the live, studio and TV arenas.

Trumpeter Graeme Flowers, who also featured prominently on ‘Outlook’ provides the lead voice on all the compositions here. A dynamic and rhythmically powerful improviser, Flowers takes the compositions to dramatic places urging the rest of the band to interact in a spontaneous and exciting way. He is well known on the jazz and studio scenes and his playing can be heard in many places from pop and jazz albums to TV show sound tracks.

Also a veteran of ‘Outlook’ is John Humphrey on drums. Humphrey has a huge wealth of musical understanding which underpins the way the band play the tunes, creating not only the right groove to support the compositions and performances but also adding urgency when the dynamic requires.

On bass is Phil Donnelly. He is a young player who has been making waves on the scene in London and beyond for a number of years now. His combined skills of solid, committed groove and quick ear for interaction and spontaneity prove to be the perfect recipe for bringing this music to life.
